DRAPER, Utah (ABC4) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash on I-15 in Draper on Friday.
Officials say around 6:34 p.m., a Yamaha motorcycle was “traveling recklessly” southbound on I-15 at 12000 South. Several reports said the male driver of the motorcycle changed lanes into the HOV lane where he didn’t slow in time and struck the rear end of a Toyota Prius.
When troopers arrived on the scene, they found the driver of the motorcycle with fatal injuries. The Prius had four teenage occupants which were all uninjured.
UHP has identified the motorcyclist as 42-year-old Michael Rogers of Lehi.

Officials say around 6:34 p.m., a Yamaha motorcycle was “traveling recklessly” southbound on I-15 at 12000 South. Several reports said the male driver of the motorcycle changed lanes into the HOV lane where he didn’t slow in time and struck the rear end of a Toyota Prius.

UHP says the HOV lane, as well as lanes one and two, will be shut down until approximately 10 p.m.

DRAPER, Utah (ABC4) – A fatal crash on I-15 southbound in Draper is causing major traffic delays Friday evening.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the crash happened at 12300 S I-15 southbound. The left three lanes are closed with the right lane being the only open lane, UHP said in a tweet.
All traffic is currently being diverted off 11400 S.
Officials ask the public to slow down and avoid the area if possible.
