M.agical Racing is a company Japanese specialized in the field of motorcycle accessories, with a certain preference for … the use of carbon. One of his latest creations particularly impressed us because he transformed the Suzuki Katana 1000 from 2019 – designed by Rodolfo Frascoli author of so many beautiful bikes that we see on our roads – in a clear quote from the progenitor of 1981, that one Katana 1100 born from the pencil of Hans Muth who at the beginning of the 80s amazed for originality with a design that has defied the passage of time but still remains pleasant and above all unique and recognizable.
Ua motorcycle that, as often happened for the Japanese market (the Kawasaki GPz900 , for example) remained in production for a very long time, perhaps only for a niche of enthusiasts, evolving over the years but never betraying the initial line and concept. A sort of … authentic restomod made by the same manufacturer. Be that as it may, the Katana in Japan remained in production – alternating current and in limited numbers – until the 2000s, testifying to the affection of Japanese motorcyclists for a real myth.
M.agical Racing in its long list of accessories and bodywork for the Katana 1000 includes a long carbon fiber tail which gives back to the Japanese naked something of red petrol and the absence of anti-pollution regulations, crowds at the bars in the company of other iconic two wheels such as the Honda CB1100 Super Bol d’Or and the Kawasaki Gpz 1100 injection.
The transformation, which brings the design closer to the Katana 1100 of 1981, is part of a very large group of accessories including light BST carbon rims, mudguards in the same material or plexi more similar in design to those of the ancestor, but it loses the place for the passenger and obtains an additional glove compartment which for the cut reminds the writer of the retractable headlight of another Suzuki, the 750 Shark.
