Motorcycle rider, 65, identified after deadly crash in Florida

A 65-year-old motorcycle rider who died after a crash in western Port St. Lucie was identified by police Feb. 24 as Steven Mohring.
Mohring, of Port St. Lucie, about 11:15 a.m. Feb. 23 rode a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Southwest Crosstown Parkway west of Interstate 95, said Lt. Joe Norkus, police spokesperson.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old Port St. Lucie woman in a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder turned left from Southwest Southern Hills Drive to travel east on Southwest Crosstown Parkway.
After the crash, Mohring, who wore a helmet, was flown to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce where he died, Norkus said.
Norkus said the intersection is controlled by a stop sign on Southwest Southern Hills Drive.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
