Actor Treat Williams, best known for starring in the TV series “Everwood” and the movie “Hair,” died Monday following a motorcycle crash in Vermont, his agent Barry McPherson has confirmed to People. He was 71.
“I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented,” McPherson said in a statement.
“He was an actor’s actor,” he continued. “Filmmakers loved him. He’s been the heart of the Hollywood since the late 1970s.”
According to a statement from Vermont State Police, shortly before 5 p.m., a Honda SUV was turning left into a parking lot when it collided with Williams’ motorcycle in the town of Dorset.
“Williams was unable to avoid a collision and was thrown from his motorcycle. He suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, where he was pronounced dead,” the statement read.
It added that Williams was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Hours before the crash occurred, Williams posted a video to Twitter of a man tending to his farm, captioned: “What a real Vermonter does.”
